Norman and Monte are a pair of film students who run an amateur ghost-hunting and paranormal YouTube channel together. Initially they're just doing it for fun (and to practice their video-making skills), but eventually, the two of them get tangled up in events that are certifiably supernatural. Demonic possession may or may not occur. I haven't worked out all (or even most) of the details yet.
Norman is a very polite young man with a curious mind and a focused attitude. He considers himself to be well-put-together; he keeps an orderly schedule and sticks to it. His brain, however, is not as ordered as his itinerary, and he often makes spontaneous connections and unusual leaps of logic that seem mildly disorienting. Sometimes he feels guilty about his belief in the paranormal, because he knows his father, a scientist, would disapprove, but when it comes down to it, he trusts his gut over anything else.
Monte is an active, talkative jokester who struggles with, among other things, tonal appropriateness, completing tasks, and impulse control. He always has to have the last word, and he doesn't know when to quit when he's ahead. They are, however, alert and good at problem-solving, and they always manage to worm their way out of trouble. Monte's a skeptic when it comes to the paranormal. It's fun nonsense, he says, but nonsense is all it is. Unlike Norman, they don't dare trust their instincts...especially when those instincts contradict what they logically know to be true.
